Kosovo's beauty and resources

NDD Centres' location in Kosovo

Kosovo’s most recent history is known for the conflict that erupted in 1998-1999. The war had a massive impact on the whole region, much of which is still in evidence today. Most significantly is the fact that Kosovo since 1999 has been placed under United Nations administration (UNMiK) with the purpose of facilitating the stabilization and democratic development of the entire area.

What people often do not see on the news, or hear on the radio, is that Kosovo is a beautiful area of the world, with a fascinating history, and generous people. Kosovo has long been well-known throughout the Balkans and the former Yugoslavia for its beauty, natural resources, and strong traditions.

Kosovo rich cultural heritage coincides with the existence of many different ethnic groups living for centuries together (Kosovo Albanian, Serb, Bosniak, Turks, Roma, etc.). A reality which deserves to be preserved in order not to loose the opportunity to learn from diversity and promote tolerance. It is this overriding sense of equality that binds the NDD Centres together.
